The “Date”

Finally, he booked his plane ticket for the final “move”, or at least the last we plan until we decide to buy a home together.

September 5, that’s exactly two months from today. We are both very excited about this decision. His flight leaves at 9am from Las Vegas, and arrives in Buffalo around 430pm. Sounds like a long flight, but remember there’s a 3 hour difference between our cities. He was lucky enough to score a nonstop flight through Southwest around $150.

A super big thank you to anyone who kindly donated furniture to us so far. : )

Here’s our furniture status, I’ll update this post as we get it, haha. Our kitchen appliances are included in the apartment, so that is a fantastic start for us. My mom, knowing her anxiousness to pick colors, will want to buy us curtains and pillows.

The Apartment

About a month ago, my boyfriend and I decided he would be moving to my city near the end of this year to attend college & work. More specifically, he plans on starting as a Nurse’s Aid.

So where the heck can we find a cheap apartment that’s not a huge dump? Most apartments I ran across that were under $500 were either on the East Side of Buffalo, hideous, or just poorly maintained.

While apartment shopping, my mom & I found Royal York Gardens near West Seneca West Senior, where I went to high school. They offer cheap, clean & convenient 1 – 2 bedroom apartments. My Dad also agreed to sign our lease for us.

Let me show you some photos of this place, it’s hard to believe we can afford a beautiful 2 bedroom apartment for $630, only paying electric [oh, our stove is GAS.]. I did a lot of research on this apartment, and everyone I talked to that’s either lived there, or visited someone who did only had nice things to say.

Introduction

Our First Hug

Our First Hug

There is no way to make this easier.
Long distance relationships suck.

This is my first serious long distance relationship lasting six months with a solitaire visit of four days total. I’ve taken all the phooey you’ll read in the advice books for “commuter couples” and applied it the best I could, still something is missing, but I’m not confused as to what that is. It’s my boyfriend, that’s what’s missing, and it doesn’t take a scholar to figure that out.

There is no replacement
for having your
significant
other right beside you.
